Production Assistant

“I'm fighting with cardboard.” – Mel Brooks, History of the World: Part 1

This is my first job in the film industry. I am very happy to have landed this job. My childhood dream was to ride a motor bike and work in the cinema. I made little home videos as a child and skits and shorts as a student at Hocking College, where I studied video, audio, TV production, and grip work. Now, having arrived in the future, I ride my motor bike to work at Kinopicz.

I mainly apply my skills as a grip and set builder here at Kinopicz. As a production assistant I set up lights, camera, and – when necessary – I bring the action. Preparation is important for camera shoots, and I am the man who gets the equipment ready quickly and efficiently. I organize and maintain the Kinopicz studio. I am a hard worker and I always try my best to give the staff a smile to keep the positive energy flowing. My name appears in most of the credits of the DIY series at Buildipedia.com, but I also go by Special K.

Pulp Fiction, The Shining, El Topo, Taxi Driver, and the Evil Dead trilogy are the roots of my love for movies.

Special Krash (2010)

This was made during the trial-by-fire phase of my internship.
