Velocity Global Meet Ron Brand Video

We partnered with Velocity Global’s creative team for a return to the office in this retro comedy brand video.

Background

Velocity Global embraces remote work and provides employers access to a global talent pool This brand video series features stuck-in-the-past HR Manager Ron who is leading the charge with his company’s return to office initiative.

Developed by the Velocity Global creative team, the script is in the style of high farce, replete with the everyday scenarios and annoyances of office life: traffic jams, cramped cubicles, co-workers’ messes, etc.

Pre-Production / Challenge

SAG Casting.

The comedic kernel of the script is that Ron is the only person who has heeded the return to office memo—so placing him inside a sprawling office was essential to getting the visual proportions correct.

Locating a large and vacant (but furnished) office proved to be quite a challenge, with our Line Producer Gail Mezey contacting over 100 locations before she tracked down a perfect location.

Location Production: Execution

Half of the shooting schedule was devoted to capturing all of the clinical scenes at various locations throughout the hospital. With the crew scrubbed-in and the gear sterilized, remote client viewing areas for the agency and client stakeholders were linked by radio communication to the set, allowing them to relay real-time feedback and shot sign-offs back to the crew.

After an extensive location search and multiple scouts, our producers identified an ideal residence that allowed us to create all five lifestyle scenes at one location, eliminating additional costly moves.

The Art Department really delivered, creating five distinct lifestyle settings within the residence—every one true to both the storyboards and Director’s vision, customized to each character’s style and personality.

Final Cuts

The production yielded three 30-second spots focusing on brand ethos, along with five additional 15-second placements—each one showcasing a particular hero character as they progress along their wellness journey.
